7-Zip is a free, open-source file archiver for Windows that opens and creates compressed archives. It handles ZIP, 7z, TAR, GZ and many other formats, and can also extract RAR, ISO and CAB files. Its own 7z format usually produces noticeably smaller files than standard ZIP compression.
