Privacy-focused open-source browser
Mozilla Firefox is a free, open-source browser developed by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation, and it is the main independent alternative to Chromium-based browsers. Its Enhanced Tracking Protection blocks many cross-site trackers, social media trackers and cryptominers by default, without any setup.
Firefox supports a large library of add-ons, a built-in screenshot tool, reader view, picture-in-picture video, and container tabs that keep logins for different sites separate. A Firefox account syncs bookmarks, passwords and open tabs across your devices.
Performance is comparable to other modern browsers for normal browsing, and memory use is usually reasonable. A small number of websites are tested mainly on Chrome and may occasionally behave differently. For users who value privacy, customisation and supporting an independent web engine, Firefox is an excellent everyday browser.
