LMMS is a free music production program for making beats and electronic music. It includes a song editor, beat sequencer, piano roll, built-in synthesisers and effects, and it can use many VST plugins on Windows.
It is a good way to learn production without spending money. It is not designed for recording live instruments or vocals, and stable releases arrive slowly.
